On the map above you can see where we offer informative, guided audio tours about some of the most beautiful locations accessible for travelers, commuters and anyone driving near or around San Francisco Bay. This is our way of letting you know about our partners and their efforts to protect and restore thousands of acres of wetlands in the nine counties surrounding the Bay.
For now we have a total of 6 audio programs including:
- Four ‘listen and learn’ locations in the South Bay where you’ll find the largest urban wildlife refuge in the US;
- A tour of projects in the North Bay that is timed for listening while you drive in either direction along Highway 37, which traverses 40,000 acres of both privately and publicly owned protected lands;
- And our most recent addition which involves a stop at Muir Beach, where the restoration of Redwood Creek is improving habitat for Coho Salmon and other wildlife, while improving the visitor experience of one of California’s most beautiful National Parks.
While it is possible to listen to these tours sitting at a computer, we encourage you to download them onto a CD, iPod, or MP3 player and use them to enhance your enjoyment when you visit these locations! You can also listen to them on any phone with web access, preferably with a good set of headphones.
Tours can be downloaded separately or as a set. Once the files are downloaded to your computer, you will have to transfer the podcast file to your portable media device. To get the complete set, click on the zip file. Once it has been downloaded, double-click on the link to open. To get individual files, right click on the link and select "save file as."
We also have transcripts of the tour for those with a preference or need to read them.
